Choosing a model
How do I pick the right model?
Start with your space and who is in the frame. With floor space and full-length family shots, the PRO+ (2.23 m wide) covers the most area; a small studio that still needs full length is a job for the FIT+, 1.07 m wide and 2.30 m tall. To shoot at the client's home, take the MOB+; to keep the floor clear, the FIX+ goes on the wall. The Products page has a three-question selector and a side-by-side comparison.
I shoot at my clients' homes. Is the MOB+ enough?
It was built for that: it goes up without tools in about 5 minutes with one person, weighs 6 kg assembled and fits in a car. The telescopic mast adjusts from 1.25 m to 2.12 m, from a newborn bean bag to a half-length adult, and the frame is 1.28 m wide. For full-length families or big standing groups that width gets tight, and the PRO+ is the better pick. The MOB+ is still on sale in both stores.
What changes with the FIX+, the wall version?
The FIX+ is the same window built into the wall, with no floor structure, in PRO, FIT and MOB sizes. If you rent and can't drill, or you like to move the light around, a mobile model suits you better. The kit does not include the curtain rod, which you buy separately, but it brings the extended brackets that give the 20 cm clearance. If you change your mind later, conversion kits to the mobile version are available.
Can I get a custom size?
Yes: the FIX+ Custom is made to your space, with dimensions defined in a project, to blend the window into your cabinetry, plasterwork or set. It is always priced by quote, and our engineering team follows the project from the planning stage. It keeps the CRI 98, the 4000K and the direct current and, like the other FIX+ models, it does not include the curtain rod. To ask for a quote, message Lucy, LEDWindow's assistant on WhatsApp.
Light and results
Does the light really look like a window?
That is what the design is for. The LEDs are spread across an area the size of a real window, and the light passes through a mixing chamber of about 20 cm and a double-layer curtain of voile and satin. The result is a soft luminous surface with no visible LED dots when the setup is right. The window itself can show up in the frame, for backlit shots and silhouettes.
Is there flicker? Will I get dark bands on video?
No. We measured with the dimmer at its lowest setting, and there is no flicker. LEDWindow turns 110 or 220 V mains into 12 V direct current, so the power never drops to zero and no dark bands appear at any shutter speed. That is why the light works for both stills and video.
Will skin tones and makeup look accurate?
LEDWindow uses Full Spectrum LEDs with a CRI of 98, fixed at 4000K. The sun is the reference at 100, and a typical market LED sits at 70 or below. Skin, makeup, clothing and set show up in faithful color, which cuts editing time. Because the temperature is fixed, set your camera's white balance between 4000K and 5000K and shoot RAW.
How do I control the intensity?
With brightness, on the dimmer in the cabinet. On the studio models the control is independent for the top and the bottom of the window; on the MOB+ it is left and right, which adds side volume to a face. Turning off half the window gives more dramatic shadows. The curtain diffuses the light, and the window lights the scene even with the curtain closed.
Does it work for newborn sessions?
Yes. The light is continuous: there is no flash burst, and you see where the shadow falls before you press the shutter. The light is cool, with no heat on the front, and the low hum of the power supply, 34 to 38 dB at 30 cm, works as white noise in the studio. The same light serves maternity, family, children and portrait work.
Buying, shipping and warranty
Where do I buy, and how much does it cost?
Orders from Brazil go through the Brazil store (lojaledwindow.co), in reais; orders from anywhere else go through the international store (shopledwindow.co), in US dollars. Prices, installments and shipping are in the store for your country, and this page leaves numbers out. Both stores carry the line, including the FIT+ and the SmartWall, and the FIX+ Custom is always priced by quote. For the exact delivery time to your address, message Lucy, LEDWindow's assistant on WhatsApp.
Can I pay in installments?
The international store takes payment in full, by PayPal or international card, and has no installment plan of its own. Some countries let you split the payment through your PayPal balance, which you can check at checkout. In Brazil, the national store, in reais, offers card installments.
I'm outside Brazil. What about shipping and import taxes?
The international store sells in US dollars, and shipping is charged on top. Import duties and customs fees are not included: they depend on your country and are outside LEDWindow's control, so check the rules locally before you buy. The 2-year warranty also applies to international shipments.
How does the warranty work?
The warranty is full, for 2 years, and includes the shipping cost of a warranty claim. It also applies to international orders. Spare parts such as curtains, power supply, dimmer and LED strip are sold in both stores at an affordable price, and after the warranty any qualified electrician can handle repairs.
Assembly and use
Is it hard to assemble? Do I need tools?
The MOB+ goes up without tools, in about 5 minutes with one person. The PRO+ comes with tools and gloves in the kit, is assembled lying on the floor, and needs two people only to lift the frame upright. The FIX+ needs a smooth wall and drilled holes for the cabinet. The illustrated manuals are on the manuals page, and support can walk you through it on a video call if you need it.
What about power use? Does it run on 110 and 220 V?
It is dual voltage, 110 and 220 V, with a manual switch on the cabinet. Power draw runs from about 181 W (MOB+ and FIX+ MOB) to 393 W (PRO+ and FIX+ PRO), and the power supply makes 34 to 38 dB at 30 cm. Inside, the mains becomes 12 V direct current, with internal fuses, active overheat protection and a flame-retardant reflector. The LED strip has a service life of 50,000 hours.
Can I switch it on by voice?
Yes: it turns on and off through Alexa or Google Assistant, using the JWCOM app and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (5 GHz is not supported). With Alexa you can also ask it to light up in 10 minutes or to stay on for two hours. Brightness stays on the cabinet dimmer. The step-by-step is on the manuals page.
